Sandy took care of our family in a time of need while my Grandpa was under her watch. Her compassion for my grandpa and our family was unmatched! Simple things she was working on were showing compassion for him, helping him out, checking on him, and talking with him. One of the items that sticks out, the picture still in my head over one year later, was when Sandy asked my grandpa to smile. He could barely open his eyes at this time, but his smile was as big as I had ever seen. This simple gesture made us cry for joy when we saw it, and it also helped us understand that he was as comfortable as he could be at this time in his life. Sandy also took care of our family. Sandy made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of while he was in the CCU unit, but also checked on us when he was moved. We could not have asked for a more special nurse at the time that we needed it the most!
