Sandy Bruce, RN, a nurse on J.A. Chapman Tower's 11 West, was nominated for the DAISY Award on for her work with a kidney transplant patient. The new kidney recipient wanted to go home even when testing suggested that she needed a cardiovascular work-up. Sandy took the time to explain the importance of further testing.

"She actually saved my life!" the patient wrote. "I had a 90 percent blockage in my heart."
