Sandy Ortega 2, RN, BSN

I was admitted to the hospital on June 20, 2025. Unfortunately, they found blood clots in both of my lungs. There were several nurses that helped me from morning until night; however, Sandy Ortega was the only nurse who actually read off the side effects to all of the medication administered.

Being a daughter of an administrative assistant for Kaiser Permanente, being a caring and thorough nurse is very important to me. It is important that patients feel heard and that through scary times, we are aware of the medications we receive. I also had an anxiety attack where I was short of breath, hot and uncomfortable and Sandy helped me feel better. She calmed me down put cold towels on my forehead and chest, had someone warm me some water and was patient with me until I was calm and could take medicine. When I arrived here, I was very displeased and emotional, but nurses like Sandy Ortega made it much better.
