I have worked at MossRehab for 28 years and I know the nursing care is just excellent! But knowing nursing care is excellent because you see good quality outcomes and hear good reports from patients and their families, is different from "knowing" the care is excellent because you or your family member was a recipient of that care.

My mother was on the 3rd floor at MossRehab in late January. She was deconditioned, depressed, underweight, and in tremendous pain. All the nurses who cared for my mother were great but one nurse really demonstrated empathy, compassion and unbelievable patience and persistence in order to help my mom get better. This nurse is Sandy Puthran.

Due to her pain and discomfort, my mom needed constant encouragement to do anything, especially to get out of bed and to eat. Sandy was in and out of her room all shift to help her move around, and Sandy made it a personal mission to get my mom to eat and drink. Her constant vigilance to my mom's medical status and mood, made me feel so comforted. If I wasn't able to be there with my mom, I knew she was in excellent hands if Sandy was her nurse! Sandy took my mom under her wings and cared for her like she was one of her own family members.
