Sandy is a staff nurse in the Operating Room and was nominated by an anesthesiologist for the extraordinary care she provides pediatric patients. One day she took the time to report to anesthesia that a child’s IV had infiltrated and needed to be changed during the surgical procedure. She held the drapes and child’s arm for over 30 minutes so that a new IV could be started by Anesthesia. The physician who nominated her stated that this was just one of the many pediatric patients she has so tenderly care for during her many years in the OR. She is a team player and wonderful role model for all of the staff.
