At first, I did not see her wings. And her smile must have been covered by her mask. When Sandy walked into my room that day, I was in so much pain - tears in my eyes, so afraid and scared, just coming out of surgery. I could only see a twinkle in her eyes - and the wrinkles etched around them told me she was smiling and said everything is going to be okay. I am going to take excellent care of you.
She gave me goals to reach and wrote me encouraging notes on my board and inspired me to walk and take control of my healing. I did all that she said and had fun doing it, so my pain turned to laughter when she walked into the room - my fear renewed hope. I want her to know I will be forever grateful for her care and compassion during my time of need. Thank you.
PS: Last night I watched "It's a Wonderful World" with Jimmy Stewart. If it is true an angel gets its wings every time a bell is rung, Bayfront is full of angels!
