Sandy Siegel was my husband's nurse when he was transferred from Bradford Hospital to Hamot. She gave him excellent care, but she really took care of Me and the kids.
Sandy carefully and caringly explained to me exactly how sick my husband was. She held my hands in both of hers, she comforted me while I cried, and she hugged me to give me some of her strength. She told me-yes-my life was changing and would never be the same, but I could embrace this changing with the loving support of my family and friends. Sandy went out of her way to help us through all of this. She even changed her work schedule so she could stay with us throughout his time in hospital.
Sandy has heart-she offered us compassion and empathy. She was a joy and a blessing to us.
