This patient was having a difficult day on the first day after surgery, but his nurse made all the difference. Sandy seemed to anticipate his needs and answered all of his questions with a bright, positive attitude and a smile! She made him feel "human" again when she got him out of bed to walk. She was not only supportive of his needs but also went out of her way to make sure his parents were also comfortable. Small gestures of offering them food or drink meant a lot to them and to him.
Sandy even came in to see how he was doing on her day off! This patient says, "I personally owe her my thanks for seeing me through my hospital stay and helping me get back to living my life, unrestrained by my condition."
