I’m a nurse, and I know just how difficult it can be to be a Charge Nurse. Sandy was wonderful. She stayed with my mother. Sandy was instrumental in allowing my husband to stay with me because I needed the support. My mother went into hospice and I was the only one left. I had already lost my sister, my dad, and my twin brother.

Sandy was always on top of everything. She handled everything with patience, understanding, and grace. The morning my mother passed away, Sandy called me and said that it didn’t look like it was going to be long. When we walked in, Sandy was playing Alan Jackson Christian Hymns for my mother. My mother loved Alan Jackson and the Hymns, but I don’t think Sandy knew that already. I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You came on, and my mother passed as it was playing. Would you believe, that is the very song that she had chosen to be played at her funeral?

Sandy showed such professionalism, and her caring attitude, compassion, and knowing just what to do, made the journey so much easier for me and my mother. Sandy deserves this DAISY Award.
