Sandy received a call from scheduling to book a vertebroplasty for a patient. After receiving the scheduling information, Sandy began to research the patient's history. She found the patient to be an elderly woman who was seen in the Emergency Department previously and diagnosed with a spinal fracture. The patient's history indicated that she was in a significant amount of pain due to the fracture. Realizing the patient was scheduled to have the procedure performed in 2 weeks, Sandy spoke with the radiologist regarding her concerns for the patient. Due to Sandy's collaboration and empathy for the patient, the procedure was able to be scheduled much sooner than 2 weeks.
