Sara's care of M was not only superbly professional but also immensely compassionate. On the morning of the last day of his life, Sara came on duty, and though knowing M was in a crisis situation, she asked to be assigned to him. She got right down to the business of preparing him for emergency surgery. If her sheer determination and excellent care could have saved him, M would still be with us. I will never forget watching her valiant efforts at CPR trying to get M's heart started after he went into cardiac arrest following the surgery. She was not only doing everything she could professionally, it was clear she cared, really cared.
