If you were to ask me what kind of nurse I would hope to see at my parents’ bedside after they suffered a stroke, I could imagine no better person than this nominee. Coincidentally, this nominee cared for both of my parents about 6 years apart, each having a different kind of stroke. 

We never imagined our family would end up back on this unit, but walking in and seeing a familiar face made all the difference. Not only a familiar face though, a truly compassionate and knowledgeable caregiver who helped to make the scariest situations a bit lighter.

This nominee is truly excellent at what she does and having been on the unit for 18 years, you can tell that she is passionate about the patient-centered care she provides. She made us laugh when we really needed a pick-me-up and leveled with us when we needed answers.

I wouldn’t recommend having to be a patient or family member in the hospital, but I 10/10 would recommend this nominee as a nurse.
