July 2023 Honoree
Sara Brown 2023, RN
First off, all the nurses in ICU are all amazing. Sara stood out in her above-and-beyond care. We had been through two nurses by the time we got Sara. We were so lucky to have her for three days. She was continually on the move. She worked tirelessly to find the best position for Mom for all her drains, tubes, and dressings. She answered my continuous barrage of questions, never once getting tired and always being pleasant. I came in early one morning to find her using her own watch to play soothing music to start Mom's day. She went to get a washcloth and was so tender and gentle washing her face and hair. She talked to me about how important it was to make people feel like people. Not just room numbers, but it was the little things that did that. She absolutely proved that to me with her tireless dedication to my mother’s care and comfort. She moved her every two hours and checked everything four or five times. Interacted with her on such a caring level. It was one of the best few days we have had at this hospital.
Thank you, Sara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
