I was fortunate to be assigned Sara Dyson as my nurse. Sara was compassionate, kind, empathetic, and anticipated my needs while in the HUP Emergency Room. She helped me to get my pain under control and she was very thoughtful. For example, she closed the curtains to allow me to try to get some rest and sleep and she coordinated with the floor nurses for my transition to get admitted. I had come in with sickle cell disease pain 9/10 and her care and compassion made all the difference. Sara Dyson exhibits everything a nurse should; attention to detail, advocating for her patients, being a team player. Due to the incredible impact, she had on me during a few hours in the Emergency Room I feel she is a true DAISY Nurse for her excellent care and service. I really feel she went above and beyond the call of her role and she made me feel like I was her only patient. I think other nurses can learn a lot from Sara Dyson in the Emergency Room.
