Finally, upon discharge, Sara happened to pass by our exam room, popped her head in, and let us know the approximate time we would have to wait until she came back to give us discharge papers. Just knowing she didn't forget us was very reassuring, especially when we were anxious to get out of the hospital.
Sara took care of me when I came into the emergency room due to a 4 x 4 x 12 falling on my ankle. The first thing she did was to carefully ease the wheelchair into the exam room. That helped me feel at ease right away since my ankle was so sensitive and any quick movement would have set it off. The other thing she did was to inquire whether or not the drug store we mentioned we would like a prescription called into was open on a Sunday. That took insight and looking forward to the future.   I appreciated that courtesy and going out of her way to save us a lot of hassle later on, especially when Roscommon has a limited number of pharmacies, let alone open on a Sunday! The other thing she was really nice about was telling us that if we came back into the hospital to have the stitches taken out, the procedure would be free and that it is considered part of the care we received that initial day when the stitches were put in. I appreciated her thinking of ways we could save money. I am always on the lookout for that, as I am sure many people are.  Sara also ordered x-rays of my ankle ahead of time to, as she mentioned, "to move things along." That was almost the first thing Dr. Verville wanted to have ordered, but my husband told him they were already ordered and taken. Dr. Verville was very happy to hear that the X-rays were ready for him to view. Finally, upon discharge, Sara happened to pass by our exam room, and popped her head in and let us know the approximate time we would have to wait until she came back to give us discharge papers. Just knowing she didn't forget us was very reassuring, especially when we were anxious to get out of the hospital. Additionally, when giving the discharge papers, she took the time to have a discussion by 1) sitting down, and 2) slowly sharing the details we would need to know after our discharge and moving into the next few days. Finally, as she wheeled me out toward our car, Sara took the time to mention how nice my tan was. I know that is a silly thing to appreciate, but it was just really nice to be complimented on something to make me feel "pretty" when I was covered in head to toe from paint and dressed in work clothes from attempting to get some yard work done around the house before the mishap happened. Anyway, I wanted to thank Sara for her special effort and let her know that the extra niceties were very appreciated.
