Sara Gilbert, BSN, RN

I was the charge nurse in the ED, and I was just given some devastating news prior to my shift, and I was having a very hard time dealing with it. The ED was so hectic, and I was feeling very overwhelmed. Sara realized this and stepped up to help me sort out the department and checked in often throughout the night. Most importantly, Sara was so supportive emotionally throughout the entire shift. Sara was reassuring and would tell me that she was there to help and that it is okay to need help sometimes. I truly don't think I would have been able to do my job or finish my shift had it not been for Sara's support both professionally and emotionally. It is that kind of excellence that is the difference between a good nurse and a great nurse.
