Sara was immediately a breath of fresh air. She was all smiles and laughter, not in a mocking way, but in a cheerful way. She spent the time to get to know my Opa (grandfather) far beyond his role as a patient. She even let him give her a mini-German lesson (he was once a German teacher) and encouraged him to tell her his life story. Sara was a great sport and super patient, allowing him time to tell stories and exercise his sense of humor. She never made him (or me) feel like she was too busy to spend time in his room or listen to him. Sara also made sure he got his pain medications on time and communicated with the providers to adjust medications to address his needs better. As a family member, I was also very grateful for Sara including my aunt and I in care decisions, answering questions skillfully, and ensuring our needs were met too. Thank you, Sara.
