Sara Kowalski 2025, RN

In May 2024, I had some lab tests done. One of the labs was of concern, so I heard from Sara that I had to repeat the labs. I was concerned, obviously, but I was okay. Once I got the results of the second round of doing the labs, I was confirmed to have hyperparathyroidism. Sara explained to me, as well as the doctor, that I would need to have surgery. My surgery was scheduled for July, and everything went well.

In a different incident, two days after I had my bone spur removal surgery on my right heel, I was diagnosed with hyperglycemia. Not long after that, I informed the doctor's office. By February 2025, I needed to schedule an appointment, and one of my concerns was obtaining a glucometer. The doctor prescribed it, and I got it, but I didn't have anything to hold the supplies in. So, through the Aspirus messages, Sara mentioned that she might have something for me to include.

So when I had my next appointment in late February, as I was checking in, she had one for me that possibly came from her own home. She didn't have to, but she did. I told her several times that she is a saint for helping me with all the things that I've been dealing with since seeing the doctor. I feel she completely deserves this award for all the help and hard work she has provided me with.
