My husband was transferred here by EMS from Canadian. Upon arrival he was in pretty rought shape. His pain level was sky high and so was his blood pressure. He has an unknown diagnosis pending labs and tests.  I was exhausted, worried, hungry, sleep-deprived, and just a mess. And then....along came Sara. She treated us like we were the only people in this hospital. (yes, I say we because we're a package deal, haha). Sara was calm. Sara was kind. Sara was never rushing through things as if the completion of tasks was her only goal. During a procedure to insert an NG tube, she compassionately placed her hand on my husband's shoulder in the way a mother bird would shelter her young in a storm. Her compassion was not only appreciated; it was FELT! When given a choice, this amazing nurse will be the reason NWTH Hospital will absolutely be our FIRST choice. If nurses were daisies, we'd pick this one! We will never forget how she made us feel.
