Sara did not have to take care of me while she had her hands full with my baby but she did so with grace.
After having an emergency C-section, my baby ended up in the NICU for 9 days. A majority of her stay at the "special care nursery" was spent with Sara. As such, so was much of my time. While I was still admitted at the hospital Sara made sure that while I was in the NICU sitting with my baby I still received the best care.
Although I was not her patient she went above and beyond to make sure I was well too. She checked my blood pressure, made sure the nurses brought me my medication and helped me with pumping and colostrum catching. Sara did not have to take care of me while she had her hands full with my baby but she did so with grace. She washed my pump parts after each use and made sure my feet were raised. At a time I felt hopeless, lost, and alone, Sara was there to remind me that I was human and that me and my baby were going to be fine.
During one of the hardest times in my life, Sara was there to restore my faith in humanity. She provided the best care for my baby too who was in the NICU for respiratory distress syndrome after a premature birth due to my severe preeclampsia. Sara never once left her unattended and took my 1 am phone calls to get a status update with poise and care. Explaining to me everything the doctors had done and how she was progressing. She is truly in the right line of work. Her care, kindness, and compassion are out of this world. I met many nurses during our 2 week stay and Sara was truly the finest of them all. I will never forget or be able to thank her enough for all she did for me and my little family.
