One evening this summer, the ED was short-staffed and facing a very busy waiting room with frustrated patients and staff. Bing the only other person in-house with ED experience Sara willingly agreed to leave the ICU and her settled patient to function as a charge RN in the ED. Upon arrival, she immediately began triaging patients and supporting her coworkers, all with a positive attitude stating, "things could be worse". Her flexibility and eagerness to help not only her coworkers but also the patients in the ED displayed her respect, compassion, and excellence as well as her consistent dedication to making Stafford Hospital a better place to work and receive care.
