April 2021 Honoree
Sara Nino, RN
Sara cared for many COVID-positive patients in our ICU during the pandemic. She was nominated by the family of one patient who was COVID positive and who did not survive. Because of visiting restrictions, they were not able to be with her when she died. They were very appreciative of the care their mother had been given, especially by Sara. The family member writing the nomination said, " ....as a nurse, it was difficult being on the other side. Sara made a HUGE difference by allowing the family to say their goodbyes via the telephone. My husband was the last person to speak to his mom and it gave the entire family comfort to be able to say their goodbyes. I know all the staff has been overwhelmed with what they have had to do so I wanted Sara to know from one RN to another, THANK YOU!!!"
Thank you, Sara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
