A blood transfusion patient we cared for required multiple transfusions one day during a snowstorm. The patient is being treated for cancer. He was weak from his condition and was here for several hours. Sara completed his transfusions and then went outside in the snowy, cold, wet weather and cleaned and warmed the patient’s car for him before transporting him outside to his car by wheelchair. This measure of care and compassion goes above and beyond her duty and makes her a true DAISY Nurse.
