During my stay, I met several nurses who took amazing care of me. One nurse stands out, compared to the rest. Sara Wertz saved my life. My left arm hurt Saturday morning, Sarah began her shift at 7a.m. My left was worse. The attendant and resident were going to discharge me, however, Sarah felt I needed a test because I was in so much pain. She convinced both doctors to send me for an ultrasound. I am able to type this letter today due to Sarah’s excellent care and concern. She literally saved my life. It turns out I had two blood clots on my left arm, above my elbow. Doctors are great at diagnosing, yet nurses get to know their patients. I am so blessed and grateful to have lived.
