Each day, Sara gives skillful advanced care to her patients here in the PICU MPLS. As a nurse, Sara anticipates and meets the needs of her children and is filled with a calm, compassionate, quiet strength that empowers her patients, their parents, and her peers to strive to be their best each day! Sara is a resource to others, a source of support in challenging times, and a mature representation of what Children's Minnesota looks to provide and be to their community. Recently, Sara has spent several weeks taking care of a patient who continues to face many challenges. When healthy, the patient has communication, learning, and behavioral, as well as other unmentioned challenges. While ill here in the hospital this patient has required full physical care, special wound healing care, respiratory failure treatment, as well as prolonged care to manage the patient's fear and anxiety. Sara sets goals for her patients and with steady stamina, helps her patients do their best to reach those goals.
