Sarah was my first nurse during my 2-plus-week stay and was my recovery nurse a number of times. I am nominating Sarah for special recognition because of all the wonderful staff at Spaulding Brighton. She stood out as exceptional from her welcome and initial assessment upon my arrival; she exuded warm, positive energy, gave me the confidence that I was going to be okay, and took the initiative and extra steps to make sure that my medicine needs were being addressed.

That initial burst of welcome, smiling positive energy was just what I needed to feel I was going to get through this challenge and would be walking again. At the very 1st session, she removed my brace, examined my stitches, tended to cleaning, and made sure all was well. Throughout my stay, she continued the same level of care with an extra touch. She took the initiative to get me a compression sock for swelling to always make sure I was on a helpful schedule for pain meds. Most of all, however, was her unfailing desire to help and keep my spirits up. Always encouragement. And always expertise and genuine caring. Sarah is a special person and a special RN.
