It was a very stressful time, but Sarah's presence was truly a gift that helped each of us continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I would like to share a very special thank you to Sarah Brady, a nurse at LMH Health-ED that went above and beyond, to care for my very sick father. She was amazing at her job!! She was knowledgeable, confident, and was so kind, not only to my father but to my entire family. It was a very stressful time, but Sarah's presence was truly a gift that helped each of us continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will forever remember Sarah and how she was able to perform her job and perform it very well. She was not only a compassionate nurse but an individual that felt like a part of our family. Several times throughout the night, as I sat with my dad in his room, he asked me if Sarah was coming back. His words warmed my heart knowing that my father was able to feel Sarah's true connection, outstanding care, and amazing grace. I was blessed last night, although back in the ED with another dear loved one, to see Sarah again. She instantly recognized me, and I was able to tell her about the unfortunate passing of my father. After a sincere hug, she told me a short story about my father that I was not aware of. Sarah told me that while she and my father were in the elevator together, heading up to ICU, my father told her how much he loved his family. She went on to tell me that while he was talking about family, he had the biggest and best smile on his face. My father was known for a lot of things, but one was his genuine smile. Sarah remembered that smile and was able to share that with me. Without a doubt, it takes a very special person to be a nurse. But it takes an even more special nurse to provide the care and compassion that my dad and our family received from Sarah. She went above and beyond, and my family will be forever grateful for her.
