She was persistent and stayed on the line until the son was able to drive to his mother's house so they could figure it out together.
Sarah took care of my father-in-law for four shifts. He was Covid positive so we were unable to see him in person. He was not someone that would text or message. If you wanted to talk to him it had to be in person or over the phone. My husband called the unit multiple times throughout the day and night for updates. Sarah never made us feel like a bother or annoyance. She always took the time to answer our questions, calmly in a way we could understand. One night she took the initiative to set up a FaceTime visit between my father-in-law, his wife, and his son. They struggled to set it up for over an hour. She didn’t give up or just try to reschedule. She was persistent and stayed on the line until the son was able to drive to his mother's house so they could figure it out together. This was the last time they were able to talk to him before he was intubated a few days later, and died a few days after that. Sarah’s compassion, kindness, and understanding made a significant difference in my family’s overall experience and last days with my father-in-law. Thank you for everything you do and continue to do.
