I would like to nominate Sarah for a DAISY Award because she made an incredible impact on one of the most important days of my life.
From the moment she became my nurse, she was patient, encouraging, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making my labor and delivery experience as positive as possible. Throughout my labor, Sarah made me feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. She always took the time to listen, answer questions, and adjust to my needs with kindness and compassion. Her calm presence helped ease my anxiety, and her encouragement gave me confidence during a very challenging experience.
One moment that stands out most was right before I delivered my baby. As I was reaching my limit physically and emotionally, Sarah placed a cool rag on my forehead, gently rubbed my head, and spoke the kindest, most encouraging words to me. It may seem like a small gesture, but in that moment it meant everything. Her compassion and reassurance helped me push through when I needed it most, and I will never forget how supported she made me feel.
Sarah has such a bright spirit that naturally brings comfort to those around her. She made me feel safe, respected, and cared for every step of the way. Even after her role in my care was technically complete, she went above and beyond by visiting me on the postpartum unit. She didn't have to do that, but she took the time to check on me and my family, offering more words of encouragement and kindness that meant so much to us. It is rare to encounter someone who is so perfectly suited for their profession.
Sarah was absolutely made to be a nurse. Her clinical care was exceptional, but it was her compassion, warmth, and genuine love for her patients that truly set her apart. She made a lasting difference in my labor and delivery experience and helped make one of the most vulnerable and significant moments of my life feel empowering and special. I am deeply grateful for Sarah and the care she provided. She is the kind of nurse every patient hopes for, and she is more than deserving of recognition through the DAISY Award.
