After neck surgery, Sarah Collins was my first nurse. Even though I was still just waking up, she treated me kindly, with compassion, and gentleness. She made sure I had anything and everything that I needed or wanted and always asked if my husband or I had any questions for her or if we needed anything before she left my room. She walked us through the process of what was happening next and what it would entail and showed my husband how to help me when I got home.
She truly made our stay calmer and made a smooth transition between shift changes at night when she left. She came back the next morning with the same comforting smile and attitude. You can tell Sarah loves her job and enjoys making her patients comfortable and happy. She was a great nurse after my neck surgery, and I’m thankful for that. She made painful parts of the aftercare as pain-free as she could, and we laughed about the most random things. She made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable place and an overall uncomfortable situation. Sarah is a wonderful nurse and deserves as much credit and recognition as I can give her.
