August 2026 Honoree
Sarah Davis, MBA, RN
Congratulations to Sarah Davis, MBA. RN, Nurse Manager for the PCLC as the 2026 System DAISY Nurse Leader Honoree! Sarah was honored with 2 nominations from team members extolling her amazing servant leadership and extraordinary compassionate care for her team members, patients, and their families.
Nomination Stories:
1) Sarah is an extraordinary nurse leader who consistently creates an environment where compassion, support, and professional excellence flourish. She leads with a servant's heart, extending care not only to her team, but also to peers and internal partners across the organization. Through her leadership, Sarah fosters a culture in which team members feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to grow.
As an ExCEL Coordinator, Sarah willingly stepped forward to support her team, working diligently to encourage participants to achieve their professional development goals. Her commitment to growth, engagement, and meaningful recognition reflects the very essence of exemplary nurse leadership. She invests in others without expectation, always placing the needs of her team above her own. Sarah is the true embodiment of a humble servant leader. At an ExCEL
Coordinator recognition luncheon, Sarah was inadvertently not recognized for her contributions. She never spoke up, sought acknowledgment, or brought attention to the oversight. It was only when another Coordinator advocated on her behalf that the omission was discovered. Had no one spoken up for her, I truly believe the mistake would have gone unnoticed, as Sarah never seeks recognition and never does anything for personal praise. Her quiet dedication and selflessness are simply part of who she is.
She leads because she cares, not because she seeks acknowledgment. Beyond her formal leadership role, Sarah demonstrates compassion and purpose through her involvement with the Christian Employee Resource Group (ERG). She assists in leading the G3 within the ERG, providing a week's worth of daily encouragement through scripture to uplift and support colleagues. Her ability to lead with authenticity and empathy creates a sense of community and hope for those around her.
On a deep personal level, Sarah's compassion extends far beyond the workplace. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, Sarah was there with genuine empathy, offering comfort, a heartfelt hug, and continued check-ins, despite navigating the loss of her own mother at the same time. Her ability to support others while experiencing her own grief speaks volumes about her character, strength, and compassion.
Sarah consistently provides a haven of emotional safety for those around her. Her care, concern, humility, and selfless leadership create a supportive and trusting environment where nurses feel seen, supported, and inspired to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. She is a role model of servant leadership and is truly deserving of recognition through the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
2) Sarah has worked for the Baptist Health system since March 2011. As a Baptist Health team member, Sarah has worked in multiple areas throughout the Baptist Health system. She is adaptable to all situations and is a great team player. In her role as Manager of the Patient Care Logistics Center, she has been instrumental in optimizing patient care throughput, streamlining care coordination with multiple disciplines, and leading a team with precise, detailed communication.
With today's complex healthcare landscape Sarah has optimized efficiencies and made significant difference in patient flow processes. Sarah has an amazing heart and dedication for her patients, but also those she works alongside. She has an innovative mindset and is wonderful at communicating and collaborating with medical staff and multiple partners throughout our large system.
Sarah approaches challenges and roadblocks with precision, resilience, and clarity. She can balance clinical insight with operational demands, which is an invaluable strength. Sarah is deeply committed to her team and their opportunities for growth as well as her professional growth. She wants to empower others to make decisions, be part of the solution, and continue to assist with efficiencies. She contributes to a culture of continuous process improvement and growth. I highly recommend Sarah and believe she is an outstanding candidate whose passion for patient-centered care and transformative leadership will make her exceptionally suited for a DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
