Sarah E Nicholas, RN

Sarah has always been an exceptional PICU nurse and has demonstrated an incredible amount of compassion and care for families/patients who are experiencing some of the scariest moments of their lives being admitted. Recently, she was assigned a shift to help a family as their very young child was in for an end-of-life stay. Seeing that she was their nurse, I commented to her that I was glad to see that she was there for them today, to which she responded, "It's truly an honor." She was so attentive to the family's needs and delicate to the challenging situation at hand, while still holding phenomenal professional boundaries. While our whole unit mourned in their own way, Sarah made room for the family at the forefront. Her care will not be forgotten by that family, and it certainly makes a positive impact on her coworkers
