I cannot say enough about Sarah. When I had my son, I had hydronephrosis bilaterally and kidney stones. I wasn’t in labor, but my due date was any day. I was going to be induced the next Friday (came in on Sunday) anyways, but they were trying to handle kidney stones and kidneys in general. Surgery was a fail, but Sarah had stayed with me until she couldn’t anymore and she was there the second I was taken to PACU. I had to have a nephrostomy bag placed then was going to be sent home for 5 days until they induced me. I did not want that to happen because I have a 2-year-old at home and was in so much pain still from my kidney stones. Sarah cried with me, listened to me, gave me advice, held my hand. I literally felt like she was my best friend/sister. She got paper and pen and wrote down all the questions/concerns that I had so I could talk to the next OB that was coming on. She spoke with the new OB before he came into my room and made sure she was in there when he rounded. I ended up being induced because of her. She was my biggest advocate while I was there. I had her 3 shifts in a row because she requested me. She wasn’t working when I delivered, but she checked on me still.

I am so grateful for Sarah. If I wouldn’t have had her, I truly do not know what I would have done. I know that I realistically was not Sarah’s only patient during that time, but I would have never known that. Sarah goes above and beyond the PETALS criteria. I am forever thankful for Sarah Fairweather.
