When you are feeling sick enough to go to the ED, you are already a hot mess. The day I went to the ER, I couldn’t breathe. I waited in the waiting room for 3 hours before being seen. Sarah was the first to come into my room and start a barrage of tests to find out why I couldn’t breathe. She was calming, efficient, and funny at the same time. It was a very busy day in the ER, and all I could do was wait, wait, wait. Sarah made me laugh even as bad as I felt.
After spending 8 hours at the ER on Monday, I was administered a breathing treatment and intravenous antibiotics. I was sent home that evening, and on my discharge instructions from her, she told me, “Thank you.” I was shocked. I wanted to thank her for making me feel calmer and better. She gave me a hug, and it meant the world to me. Thank you for all that you do.
