I want to commend Sarah for handling a particular ongoing difficult and emotional situation with poise, professionalism and genuine care.
In the midst a busy shift in CV, Sarah and our social worker, Rod, spent an extended period of time with a family member who had numerous concerns, questions, anxieties, etc. Sarah was able to conduct the meeting by explaining labs and values and goals, among other patient care details. This particular gentleman is obviously very bright and loves his family member very much. By the end of the meeting, it appeared there was an improved understanding and peace and knowledge of the teamwork involved in this particular patient's case and an alleviated sense of anxiety. I was very proud of her and believe this was a prime example of what we strive to do and who we strive to be here at SVRMC.
