Sarah has a heart of gold, shows true compassion, and makes sure her patients are comfortable and that they know she is always a phone call away.
I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. Dr. P was the first appointment I had. His lovely nurse, Sarah, made me feel comfortable and at ease as possible while embarking on a challenging journey. The following year, this year, 2022, I had a recurrence and had to start the process all over again. It was nice to see her and know there wasn't office turnover. Meeting a familiar face while going through a cancer journey is comforting.

This time, I had a couple of instances where I had to call their office due to questions and concerns post-surgery, and I needed my drain dressing changed multiple times. Sarah made sure to let me know I was never a burden and that is what she was there for. After I had my drain removed, I developed a seroma and when I went back to their office to have it checked, Dr. P was out of town and I saw a PA instead. Sarah could tell I was nervous after the PA decided to drain the seroma.

When the PA went to get supplies, Sarah asked if I wanted her to stay with me and I said yes. That simple act of letting me know I wasn't alone helped tremendously. When I came back to see Dr. P after he got back in town, Sarah swiftly came to the side of a distressed patient (who was crying profusely in the waiting room) and took her back to a private room where I'm certain she consoled her to the best of her ability. Sarah has a heart of gold, shows true compassion, and makes sure her patients are comfortable and that they know she is always a phone call away. She is confident and calm while showing up where she's needed with grace. I'm so thankful she was there for me when I needed an awesome nurse and also when I needed the assurance that I wasn't being a pest by calling her over my concerns. Beyond that, the fact that she recognized my anxiety and offered to stay by my side meant the world to me.
