Sarah Henthorn, RN

Sarah was one of the wonderful nurses who took care of me while I was at Methodist Germantown for the birth of my son. I was in labor for 50 hours and had many wonderful nurses, but Sarah was absolutely exceptional. She has such a sweet, positive attitude and made me feel safe and taken care of. During the time that Sarah was taking care of me, I had already been in labor for 36 hours unmedicated and had finally decided to get an epidural. I was absolutely terrified as this was not part of my birth plan and I had so much anxiety. Sarah was there with me, in front of me, holding my hand and instructing me on my positioning and breathing while they placed the epidural. She made me feel so much better and made the process very quick and easy. Beyond that, she made sure I was comfortable, repositioned me multiple times when I was uncomfortable and couldn't make up my mind, took her time, and was patient in placing the monitor on my son, whose heartbeat was very difficult to find. She explained the reasoning behind everything she was doing, made sure to give me time, and truly cared about how I was feeling through the pain.
