I received a text from my son asking for help, you see he was struggling with anxiety and depression very recently and he said that it was worse. I asked him if he has thoughts of hurting himself and he said yes. I talked with my doctor and she gave me a few choices for him. He chose to come to the ER. My doctor called the ER provider. My son, his wife, and his daughter (9 months) arrived and he was brought back right away! He, along with his family were treated respectfully and without judgment. The nurses even all prayed for my son. We cried together and the nurses were so kind, proficient, and all-around wonderful. I have worked in healthcare delivering direct patient care for 18 years. I have spent time in ERs as an employee and as a patient or family member of a patient. Let me just say this "our entire family agrees this was the #1 best experience we all have ever had!" My son was admitted to a place far away that has been able to give him the tools he needs to get better. It was the best treatment center for him. These nurses and providers were excellent. Every single one of them deserves a huge kudos - they might have just saved my son's life. The compassionate care that my son and his family received was exceptional. I just cannot find the right words to express all of our gratitude to this team. Thank you.
