Sarah was fantastic!
Besides her attentive clinical care, she was an exceptional and sympathetic listener. For two days, she kept us apprised of the tests and procedures that would happen and helped manage expectations about when to hear results or receive visits from the doctors.
My husband responded excellently to the antibiotics and was stable and more than ready to go home, but the doctors decided late in the day to do one more culture, which crushed our hopes to get home.
Being a holiday weekend, it was all the more disappointing, but she continued to advocate for our wishes. She stayed in communication with the physician team, persistently clarifying to them our understanding of what we'd been told, and also relaying to us the immediate responses. She was kind and humorous throughout this anxious time for us.
Even with only a few hours to go before the end of her shift, she received a very ill patient (in my husband's room) who required her full attention, but she would still flash us a sincere smile as she hurried to and fro to care for this person.
With her caring for my husband (and equally for me), we knew we were in excellent hands. She was confident, warm, and responsive. A dream nurse.
We are grateful for her care and expertise.
