She was amazing!! I was so scared by the symptoms I was feeling, and she was so compassionate and comforting.
I had a total Thyroid removal surgery on Thursday. The discharge date should have been Friday but surgery lasted a little longer than it should have because there were some unexpected complications. But anyway, I am overall very healthy, never had any surgeries, never been admitted to any hospital so let's say this being my first surgery and first hospital stay after a 7-hour surgery that should have been 3 or 4 hours max. I was terrified. Everyone was great from the Drs to the RNs, and the CNAs but all my respect and so much thankfulness goes to Sarah, she was my nurse for day shift. She was amazing!! I was so scared by the symptoms I was feeling, and she was so compassionate and comforting toward me with my many calls with concerning questions. She was so patient with me and my questions. She had gone through the same situation as me and every time I would feel I was bothering her she would always come into my room with a smile on her face and calm me down telling me what I was going through was normal and that it would get better. She was the charge nurse for those shifts too so I saw as busy as she was, she would always come in smiling. Sarah made my first hospital a lot easier, so I wanted to make sure she knew how much that meant to me. Thank you, Sarah, I see how much of a great person you are and how much you love what you do. I am so grateful I had you as my nurse. You made my prolonged stay so much better... You are amazing!! Thank you!
