As a member of the IT Works Clinical Informatics team Sarah has been a key associate for our Clinical Optimization effort over the past two years. In her role, Sarah works directly with the providers to observe their workflows and document their current state. She then works with the IT Works Clinical Optimization team to identify workflow areas that could benefit from the technology advances that Cerner Millennium brings to the table. From this review she creates a Future State workflow and presents that back to the providers for review.
With each of the Clinical Optimization projects that Sarah has been a part of, she has always been acknowledged by the providers for her knowledge and diligence in developing workflows that best optimize their skills and makes the patient experience as positive as it can be.
As a result, the Clinics of Rutland Regional Health Systems have seen dramatic improvements in such areas as patient visit documentation, accuracy in orders, and improved turnaround time for entering visit charges. This has led to improved Patient Satisfaction surveys and has brought financial stability to each of these specialized business units. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and knowledge that Sarah brings to the job.
