Recently, I had bladder surgery, and as a widow/only parent, was truly terrified. The whole clinical staff in the surgery was truly amazing. When I was done with my surgery, I felt great right up until the moment when I didn't...I got sick from the anesthesia. Sarah gave me amazing care. She was so gentle and patient. She told me funny stories, gave generously of herself, and made sure I had everything I needed. I had to do a bladder challenge and she was so patient. She even called the doctor and asked for a second chance for my bladder challenge because she knew I did not want to go home with the catheter. (Although I don't suppose anyone does...) In the end, I went home with a Foley Catheter, but she was so supportive of me and answered every one of my questions. She stayed two hours beyond her shift caring for me and never made me feel rushed in any way. I am blessed to live in a small community that has stellar medical care. Thank you to everyone that cared for me before and after my surgery. I had a wonderful experience. My special thanks to nurses like Sarah that work so hard and very long hours. I am so grateful to receive thorough and truly caring healthcare. Sarah's gentle spirit and caring attitude epitomize what healthcare should be. She literally puts the "care" in healthcare.
