A patient came into the ED suffering from a stroke and had his dog, P, with him. P was his only companion and the patient had no one to care for his dog while in the hospital. Sarah went to work right away establishing contact with dog boarding and finding a safe place for P. Sarah drove the dog herself that day and took pictures to show the patient to put him at ease. Since then Sarah has visited the patient tirelessly to show him photos and videos of his P. The patient's phone has been shut off since his extended stay. Sarah has even gone to visit her and printed her picture and hung it in the patient's room for him to see. The patient remains hospitalized at our facility and Sarah continues this amazing support for the patient as frequently as she can. She has truly gone above and beyond for this patient and the dog he loves so much.
