Sarah is amazing! When our son was first born and came over from another hospital she was the first nurse to care for him. We had so many questions at first that we didn't know how to ask but she thoroughly explained everything she was doing step by step and encouraged us to be involved and ask questions. She helped get us a pump in the room right away so I could pump at the bedside which helped my milk come in faster and made it easier while I was recovering from giving birth than it was to walk to the pumping room. Our son recovered well from the open heart surgery and went up to 4D quickly only to come back down shortly after in septic shock. We were lucky enough to get Sarah again who was familiar with his previous situation. After coming back down to CCCU with a breathing tube back in we had been unable to hold our son for two weeks. Sarah was the first nurse to offer to get a respiratory therapist come and help move his tube so we could finally hold him again. She is a true professional when it comes to her job and it really shows in the way she talks to other staff, maintains her workspace, and the knowledge she has shared with us as our son's situation continues to change. We feel at ease leaving our son in her care when we have to go and we trust her to make the best decisions about his care in our absence.
