Sarah was incredibly integral to my recovery. My legionelle’s pneumonia caused tachycardia. I needed to be placed where they could monitor my heart and also continue to combat the pneumonia. The unit is situated so multiple patients can be monitored at once. As a result, our spaces were curtains, and deep feelings of isolation set in. I know that Sarah sensed these feelings and made sure to consistently care for all aspects of my healing. Sarah’s presence and care during my time of need were like a ray of sunshine in the darkest hours.

On day two, she pulled the curtain back at the start of her shift. I started to cry; there were no words needed. She has the innate ability to show genuine compassion and understanding. In moments when I felt overwhelmed, Sarah was there with a reassuring smile and a comforting touch, providing both physical and emotional support that made all the difference in my journey to recovery. What a rare and precious gift; Sarah succeeded in making a profound impact on my life. I want to thank Sarah from the bottom of my heart for being the guiding light in a room with no windows as she led me through a challenging time; I am blessed that she is now forever in my life’s journey.
