My husband and I were scheduled to come in for a fetal demise. Our thoughts and emotions walking in were a mess at the unknown of what our hospital visit would entail. Sarah helped answer all our questions and remained strong when I couldn't. She took my hand, offered tissues, and a calm demeanor that we both needed. I cannot express my gratitude enough towards her.
The majority of couples are walking in with anticipation instead of grief. The thoughts surrounding our time here was planned out ahead of time. The team made sure our room was positioned in a quiet area to give us space that was just ours. At the end of her shift, Sarah asked if she could give me a hug. I accepted with open arms; to be treated not just as another patient or day on the job meant everything to me. It really was like a dose of medicine all in that single hug.
Thank you, Sarah, for making our time here for the procedure less scary and for allowing us to focus on the healing road ahead.
