Sarah Petke's patient was on a rescue bipap. He needed to be on a nasal cannula to be transferred to a hospice facility. Sarah was in the room often assessing his physical and emotional needs. She bonded with him and him with her. He opened up to her that he was done fighting and all he wanted was a pizza and diet coke. Sarah immediately went to work making his last request. She called her husband who brought the last meal into GMU. He enjoyed his last meal and died shortly after.
