Sarah is the epitome of a DAISY Nurse. She embodies exceptional nursing care. Sarah has become known in our unit for her unique gifts and caring spirit. She visits prior patients, buys trinkets for current patients, and forms meaningful relationships with patients' entire families.
Sarah took the time to purchase nail polish and earrings for a terminally ill patient in an attempt to make circumstances better.
Just yesterday, I noticed her preparing to decorate a patient's room for his birthday. It is rare to see this level of care within the healthcare setting today.
Recently, a transplant patient was awaiting discharge. I accompanied Sarah to the stepdown unit to wish the patient a farewell. I witnessed the purest patient interaction imaginable. Sarah has a gift of using her spirit to uplift her patients, making them feel special during extremely stressful times. She is an invaluable resource for everyone here.
