March 2026 Honoree
Sarah Pratt, BSN, RN
Sarah was caring for a young woman on VV Echo who got a phone call from her friend. Her friend called because she was also feeling ill and was considering seeking medical treatment.
On the FaceTime call, Sarah noticed that the patient's friend was in visible respiratory distress. Sarah encouraged her to get help in a timely and safe manner. The woman began driving herself to the emergency room, and this concerned Sarah, so she had the woman stay on the phone. Sarah helped direct her to the closest ER, but upon arrival, the woman was too weak to be transferred from her care to the hospital.
Noticing this, Sarah called the hospital herself to get the woman help. The woman ended up being very sick. She and the patient were so grateful for Sarah's help. She was so comforting to the patient and her friend in a uniquely stressful situation. We are so lucky to have Sarah on our team
