Sarah showed us exceptional care whilst my son, T, was admitted to HDU. Sarah consistently went above and beyond for both T and me, demonstrating not only her expert nursing skills but also kindness, compassion, and empathy. Sarah's specialist knowledge shines from her and she gave her time to ensure I understood the rationale for decisions in T's treatment plan as well as excellent advice and reassurance. Sarah used her specialist knowledge to be our voice and advocate for both T and me to ensure his individual needs were consistently met. Sarah is creative and dynamic in her approach, and ensured T's care was delivered in a way that met both clinical need and T's individual needs. 

Sarah demonstrates humility, excelling in her practice with a warm and friendly approach. Sarah found time for me during a busy shift and showed me so much kindness and compassion, as well as some much-needed humour! Sarah saw us for who we are, real people with real needs, and ensured our experience was as personalised as possible. Sarah listened to me and took time to really understand my perspective as well as including us as active partners in T's care. 

Sarah took time out of her day to come to find us once we had moved out of HDU to ensure we were ok and to answer any questions we might have had. During all of my contact with Sarah, I felt that T was in safe hands and that she had his best interests at the centre of her decisions, as well as holding space for me - his very worried and frightened mum.
